Luna, queen of darkness and of night
Sola, king of day and thus of light.
Only one may reign over all the sky
Their respective prides cannot abide a tie.
Thus Luna gathered her army around her
The Battle, Father Time, would no longer defer.
Across the horizon lay her patient rival
Sola, the Golden King, who awaited her arrival.
Two leaders commanded; their troops swarmed the field
Causing flashes of gold and pink to build.
A violent attack and a sudden streak of red
“Halt,” cries Luna, “for Sola surely is dead.”
Hence Luna had won the victor’s right
To send Earth into her dominion of night.
But while the Battle of Sunset was Sola’s descent
The night’s hold would break with Sola’s assured ascent.
