Samhain

We have the light that burns behind our eyelids,
That casts the glow upon those who pass
In their guises, shadows in the night-time.
Fire burns in our heads, which sit together, and
Mourn the passing of the time we have lost
Before it begins again, so long away yet.
The children dance outside, and the rain dances
Beyond our doorstep, carving a cruel rhythm.
It quenches not our fires,
Fuels our burning desires.
We lean and fall now, together, but still we burn.
We called them forth and warned them away
And mourned that they are lost, yet we wait,
With our burning heads
And our burning hate.
