atop a cliff you spy, a lost and lonely maid
her children went unfed, the bills then went unpaid
the sea is calling out , it said it knew her name,
it said it loved her dearly, it said it knew her pain
she told it of her troubles, regrets and doubts and fears
she told It she was lonely, her face now showing tears
as she told it of her problems, it pondered what to say
the waves slowly rolling, across it’s golden bay
she didn’t have the strength, no one even saw
when she decided to be one, at home on the shore
the foamy arm reached up, a moth found it’s cocoon
the little maid at rest now, peacefully among the dunes.
