Don't go, she pleaded.
As he turned away,
Man in a uniform
Walking towards his final day.
He would cry tears for her
But it has been forced into his head,
Tears show weakness
And the weak end up dead.
He holds his head high
His arms stiff by his sides,
Back up straight
He had said his goodbyes.
Praying it won't be forever
Hoping he will make it home,
Surrounded by hundreds of soldiers
Yet feeling entirely alone.
They will all call him a hero
And he'll smile to be polite,
What they don't understand is
What their country's doing, isn't right.
