Underneath youth gilded lids,
the placid sleeper gently bids
the comings and goings of wispy wishes ,
her new mind ever so gently fishes.
The whitest things from her darkened wake
her sleeping mind does not forsake.
Balloons burst into butterflies,
dancing watched by gentle eyes,
Swirling scarves of brightest hues
Glitter through the world like jewels.
She dreams of a paradise far away,
from the world that haunts her every day.
Moonlight falls on her tangled bed,
leaking through the lids that bled
tears during this day’s light,
inhabiting her shining night.
