The blackness of night swirls thick around me
I wish I was, but I know I am not free
The bars of night are my jail of dark
Hope flutters inside me like a fiery red spark
As a single speck of light
Lets me free from the night
The darkness, the cold
Of Ebony’s hold
Now that I am free
I am filled with glee
For inside the Ebony
My life started to ebb away.
