Roaring guns, bullets, shelling
Ammunition and murderous machinery
Troops are firing their guns at each other
They aren’t stopping until their final breath.
The bullets fly through the air, never a moment
To sit down and relax. Soldiers trudging, trudging, trudging…
Terror, courage, sacrifice and devastation
It was an awful time at war
The troops can hear the planes dropping bombs
Through the groaning of the soldiers
Blood being pierced by the bullets
That aren’t stopping for a rest
They have to dig trenches to keep themselves out of the
firing line. Soldiers have to plan their attack to perfection
and if they don’t the troops will not be able to
Tell the story when they get home, if they make it.
