All is dark, all is quiet,
The sky is cloudless and the moon shines bright,
Everyone is peacefully sleeping.
No – one can disturb this beautiful night.
Then comes the chirp of a single bird,
No, two, three, now more are heard,
The sky seems to get brighter above the mountaintops,
Not any form of wakening would I have preferred.
A ray of sunlight escapes the defence of the hills,
It shoots up ‘till the whole sky it fills,
Covering the earth in its golden glow.
I see the morning suns light on my window sill.
