There is something in a soldier;
You can see it in his eyes,
The courage, loyalty and bravery,
That he will not disguise.
A soldier serves his country,
Despite the loved ones crying,
And he fights and fights and fights,
Until the result is only dying.
Staring desperately out the window,
The silent screams of pain,
The emptiness of a son
As he stands fatherless in the rain.
A life full of sorrow,
Caused by the death of war,
Is sure to capture everyone
But the once loved son of a soldier
Most of all.
