Washed Out

Little miss sunshine, do you see?
Come, look at this spider,
This little spider who is me.

I met you in a bittersweet sunset.
The vivid colours shone
But they could not compare
With the glimmer in your eyes,
Or the shimmer of your hair.

I loved you then,
More than I could ever explain.
But of course, along came the clouds
And all the rain.
By darkness, the light was shrouded.

Little miss sunshine was no more,
The spider was left all alone again,
All alone, by the shore.
