Daddy, I Love You

I sit in the dark and hold my breath,
awaiting a sweet release.
I shall walk into the arms of death,
if blood and tears are to cease.
I try to hide my pain from you dad,
because I love you so much.
But I am sad when you get so mad,
praying you don’t hate me such.
Then you come and in fear I sob,
maybe I am not ready.
You hit ‘till I feel my body throb,
wish you’d kill me already.
Daddy, before you pick up that knife,
know that I will forgive you.
Tonight with blessings you take my life,
daddy, I love you.
