Kate, you're great to be around,

I first saw you from across the kindergarten room,

And not long afterwards, we were friends.

When I'm bored, you cheer me up.

I love your hair and smile.

You're great at running and beat me every time.

You always get a good start.

Everything around you is happy and smiling;

the people and objects near you look brighter.

But you keep on laughing,

Taking no notice,

Because you are my good friend.
