Daddy, you shed a single tear
When I was born.
Our lives full of laughter and cheer.
Daddy, you shed a single tear
As I learned how to love,
Never showing your fear.
Daddy, you shed a single tear
When times were tough.
Strong, tall and always near.
Daddy, you shed a single tear
In the quiet of the night,
Not thinking I could hear.
Daddy, you shed a single tear
Of love, joy and pride,
Shared throughout the years.
