Finalist in the 'Far Out 2012' competition
A sign of wear, visible to the world
Triggered by the slightest smile.
A single crease, summoned at the twitch
Of an eye.
Slowly it becomes more noticable - like a looming shadow before the midday sun.
Every year, looking in the mirror
It’s there. It taunts me.
Age induced geometry shadows my face,
A ghastly imperfection in the delicately woven fibre of beauty.
