Goblins
By Bryn Larkin
Goblins, going through the gates, the gates that should never open,
Stealing all the Peoples things, to leave the people moping.
Hauling away their stolen goods, with snickering, evil and mean,
Preparing them as offerings to the evil goblin queen.
Meanwhile, into the plundered town, rides a hero, hair black and clean
Who Volunteers to help defeat the goblins and their queen.
The hero sets out on his quest, the goblin clan to smite,
He unsheathes his sword and, with magic words, it glows with all its might.
The blade emits an aura of power and sun like fire,
The heroes armour turns to gold and his stature grows even higher.
He races off, His massive sword, cutting through the bracken,
Watch impish little fiends, he’s going to catch you napping!
He rides into the goblin land, as the goblins screech and flee,
The hero swings his sword and shouts aloud, “Justice Come to thee!”
He crashes through the royal palace, and stops before the queen.
“Your reign of terror is over” he growls “your former majesty”.
He holds his blade above his head and swings with pure might,
Its journey ends through the goblin, ending her evil life.
So descendents of this esteemed hero, beware on a moonless night,
For the goblins still wait to avenge their queen, when the chance is ripe.
