Tabby Cat

Orange tabby cat
Jump onto my lap,
Scratch my fingers with your paws
And with sharp retracting claws.

Scruffy tabby,
With that rumbling purr
Can you tell me where you where?

Old tabby,
Your shabby coat
comes off in my hands,
I'll admit that I dote

On your silken ear,
The amber eyes through which you peer
And small salmon nose.

Are you hungry tabby?
You can't come inside,
But I'll let you dose
On my lap
While you're tired.
