A Cry Of The Innocence

Trudging, talking, trembling,
Drew my attention toward a small window to peep.
The sight that betook my eyes brought bile to my mouth,
And there I stood, staring horrified, resisting the urge to weep.
Cramped, clogged and cluttered,
A stunned silence hangs in the air for just a spell of time.
Then screams, blood-curdling cries break forth;
A cry of the innocence; for that they hold no crime.
Scared, stunned, sick,
Skulls of young children impact with the harsh, cold walls.
Crack! The chance of life stolen in one blow,
A young mother screams as her child is killed, falling as she calls.
Gagging, groaning, gasping,
Toxic gas discharges into the claustrophobic prison.
Lungs filled with the fatal gas explode,
As death passes over each and every victim.
