Finalist in the 'Written in the Stars 2013' competition
The wind whistles through the trees,
Leaves whisper in its breeze.
A butterfly comes fluttering by,
A slinking cat comes sleek and sly.
The green of the trees,
The green of the grass,
Contrast the sunflower,
Petals like brass.
The butterfly by now has gone,
The slinking cat is forlorn.
The birds sing in joyful song,
The crickets chirp and sing along.
The sneaky cat has spied the feast,
It has no chance in the least.
This is the aura and perfume,
Of spring's day in full bloom.
