Magic

Where sticky sand meets foaming water
In the dark, she stands alone
Where the moonlight takes the shadows for its bed
While rain thunders all around her
And bright lightning strikes hit home
And the ocean gapes, a weeping scar of death

The magic comes
She feels it creeping faintly closer, hears it sigh
The fizzy sparkle in her heart and limbs confirms
It’s fast approaching
And she barely hears when thunder cracks close by
She is soaring
Through extraordinary worlds

Yet now she calms the wild wind gently
And the whirling storm obeys
Like a wolf pup when its mother gives reproach
With forgiveness in her features
She instructs it not to stray
And she sends the twisting strands of madness home
