Finalist in the 'Written in the Stars 2013' competition
Tears frozen in mid-air.
Falling silently into screaming seas.
Pain encased in a glass case.
A heart that has long stopped beating.
Blood red smile, brighter than the sun.
Black eyes, darker than any night.
A hollow soul, void of freedom.
An empty mind, always thinking,
But never speaking...
No trust, no life, no love.
This isn’t a person, and never will it be.
This is the Earth as we now know it.
Didn’t she once smile, didn’t she once laugh.
The humans have destroyed her.
But they don’t care.
This is Mother Nature’s Last Lament.
