The paintbrush is the enemy of the canvas.
The one which details, perfects and neglects real beauty.
The canvas is simplistic, plain and yet so useful.
“Regarded as an essential tool for the paintbrush.”
A condescending, conservative opinion says the canvas.
It gives the canvas colours and features.
It gives sumptuous meaning.
It splashes intricate moods on the canvas.
And yet it’s endless moments of precision will never enlighten the simple purity of imagination.
