Dark the ones who hear the scream
Light the men who carry on
Gone the father, gone his son
Red the face, red the blade
Red the bodies being laid
Blue the lives that carry on
Gone the father, gone the son
Wet the eyes of the dead men’s love
Wet the haunting sky above
Dry the eyes of the women strong
Gone the fathers, gone their sons
