Take a thing, make it better,
Take my things, make them better.
I tell a joke, you tell it too.
People smile at me,
But they laugh at you.
When I do something,
But you do it better,
Sometimes I think,
Why do I even bother?
I am a first draft,
You’re the good copy.
I am a prototype,
And you’re the upgrade.
People try me,
But then they switch to you.
You get kept in high regard,
Shared around with all their friends.
I am out-dated, replaceable,
And I get thrown out.
But something you don’t know,
That you won’t know until it’s too late.
Everyone gets replaced eventually,
Because there’s always another upgrade.
