Can You See Her?

Can you see her?
She sits at the back of the room,
Inconspicuously dressed in a plain white T,
Her heart kept in the back pocket of her jeans.
Never puts up her hand,
Never dares to ask.
Expressionless features give nothing away,
They leave you guessing in the darkness of her eyes.
Can you see her, she’s looking at you,
But don’t flinch under the gaze of her curiosity.
Grandiose in her simplicity,
Rather gaze back with disdain.
Keep your head held high,
Don’t let her win.
Because this is a place of unease,
Where silver linings don’t exist.
