I run through museums and shout in art galleries
Keeping secrets hidden in the hollow of my throat
I tell myself that this is the same air that Knights and Kings and Queens breathe
And that some things are meant for forgetting
I grow flowers down the length of my spine and sew up holes in the sun
I will be the knights and the kings and the queens
Breathing the air that billions of people breathe everyday; in, out, in, out
There is a gentle hum in my brain
Where the thread I used to sew up the sun breaks
And the flowers on my spine died years ago
Because I forgot to water them
I am the night
Breathing air through the stolen lungs of Kings and Queens
Treading lightly through museums and shouting in art galleries
Some things are meant for forgetting
