My Country
In Australia we love a good sausage sizzle,
If our snags aren’t cooked right, we have a little grizzle.
We love watching the footy down at the pub,
In our country, we are surrounded by shrub.
Summer is one of the best times of the year,
Especially when we can go and jump off the pier.
We take care and protect all of our native creatures,
When you have a good look around our country, you see its beautiful features.
Our country is one of the toughest, you would ever see,
We have survived bushfires, cyclones; it’s no cup of tea.
In Australia, our residents usually get along,
As a whole though, we are seen as quite strong.
We have very lovely scenery, especially looking into the bright sun,
If you live in Australia, your battles have already been won.
