Ghost Of The Key Keeper

Ghost of the Key Keeper
"Mum," I whined, "I've got to go, please."
"Oh all right, you can go," mum replied.
"But be back before dinner."
I wasn't listening, I was all ready out the door. I got my bike
and rode off. I'm Red, its not my real name, but kids call me
that because of my red hair. I was off to my friend Robert's
house, but I had no idea that I may never come back!
It was the 16 of October, and at Robert's house we mucked
around a bit, then his mother kicked us out of the house. We
road off to the shops, and although the street was getting
dark, we kept riding. When we got there,we parked our
bikes and walked up to the shops. The huge place loomed
over us like a haunted house. As we entered, we noticed no
one was there, not even a checkout person. It was quiet, too
quiet.
"I'm sc-cared," stammered Robert.
"Don't worry...," I was cut off by a booming voice.
"Leave now and never return!"
"Didn't you see the do not enter sign?"
I gulped, "Who are you?"
"I," he said, "Am the key keeper and you are my next
victim."
Fear jolted through my whole body. I turned to run, but my
legs were too heavy. I turned around and looked at Robert,
but he wasn't there, he was gone!
I realised that the key keeper was hiding in the shadows,
watching me, staring at me. I turned around again and saw
Robert on his bike and riding away and I realised that I must
do the same. I used all my strength and ran. I ran faster
than I have ever run before.
"I will get you!" the key keepers voice echoed through the
shop and then he disappeared. I rode back home and went
straight to my room. My mother wanted me to come and
have dinner but I didn't risk it, I wanted to go straight to bed.
That night the words of the key keeper echoed in my room.
The next morning I rode to the library and looked at all the
books about ghosts. Finally I found something about a key
keeper. It read:
A long time ago there was a man, who worked in an old
dungeon far from town. The bodies of two local boys were
found inside. Their names were Euan and Rob.
"What this can't be true!" I said out loud.
"Euan is my real name and Rob is short for Robert."
I dropped my book and ran to Robert's house. I told Robert
everything I had read. We decided to go back to the shops.
There was still no one there.
"Oh sick!" I heard Robert groan as we spotted a pile of
bones on the ground, but we didn't have long to look at them
because two cold hands grabbed me and then every thing
went black.
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, went my alarm clock. I shot out of bed
and looked at the calendar. To my surprise it was only the
15th! A dream, It was only a dream. I realised I was holding
a piece of paper, I slowly opened it up and grasped in
shock. It read:
I am coming you cannot escape me.
