I can smell the saltiness of the sea
That flows below me
I can feel the strong iron of my gun
That I hold in my hand
I can hear the crashing of the loud waves
Of the never-ending sea
I can taste the disgust of losing my best mate
That used to fight with me and helped me escape the bombing
That he did not
I can see the distant explosions
Of the never ending battle
I feel the sadness lapping over me like
The waves going over the stones on the beach
I am thinking about what will happen
When I die for my country
And will anyone remember me?
