When darkness rises in the gloom
And silken shadows touch the moon
When brightest sunlight is obscured
And in place of colours, black is lured.
When fires are smothered in the night
And all the streams have turned to ice
When salty tears are all you drink
when you're too scared to even blink
When the touch of nothing lingers so long
And all you hear is a haunting song
When little whispers make you shiver
And all you dream of is a churning river
Then suddenly, suddenly, a blinding light
And some one is telling you "it's all right"
They take your hand and guide you home
To the places of happiness you used to roam
Away goes the darkness; the colours are back!
Gone are the hues of that smothering black!
And the voice of the hand whispers "my name is Hope"
