Danger!
The water escapes me,
As I rise to the crisp surface
The beautiful, clear water goes on for as far as I can see,
I feel so free, never threatened or nervous
Then suddenly I see a large, dark shape appear,
My heart starts beating rapidly
I find myself frozen with fear,
And I turn to see oblivious beach goers swimming happily
I study the odd shape,
A million thoughts are going through my head
I open my mouth to scream when I see the “Danger!” tape
When suddenly I find myself sitting in my bed
I didn’t know why, but I still felt wet,
Then suddenly I look down to see a huge wet spot
I scurry to find a new sheet set
Stupid dreams, they make you believe things are real when they are not
