Excellence Award in the 'Write As Rain 2014' competition
She shivered as the icy fingers
Prodded at her brain
A sponge soaked in shame
So she squeezed
And squeezed
Out dripped the remains of a broken heart
Each piece was part of a soul
She felt warm beams of hope
Radiate from each piece
So she picked them up
And in her palm she held
A collection of memories
She had found herself
