Finalist in the 'Write As Rain 2014' competition
A flower, been forgotten in her woes
Cries silently for her self-shame
Her beautiful sisters scorn her with their looks
Because her beauty is only inside
The whole garden looks upon her appearance, asking
“Why has she not blossomed?”
One day she brought out her inner light
The most beautiful the garden had ever seen.
The most treasured of all the flowers
Was then plucked by the gardener for her beauty
A tool to wipe his tears,
And placed next to the gravestone’s head
Confined to her vase, never to grow again
All the flowers ask forgiveness, and wave goodbye
And in her dying breath, she proclaims
“Forget me not”
