Why should it matter how I speak,
Or the colour of my skin?
Why should it matter how I pray,
Or what God I believe in?
It shouldn’t matter what clothes I wear,
Or how I stumble when I walk.
Nor it should matter the way I look,
And the accent that I talk.
I hear the laughs and jokes,
As I cry to sleep at night.
Wondering if my life would be different,
If I wasn’t born me, but born white.
We were all born into this world,
To live a life we deserve.
I am different, it’s who I am
Black is a colour...just a word.
