The war of the century is upon us!
The battlegrounds are already filled with the stench
Of secondhand corpses of the bygone era, mounted in ultimate sacrifice.

The bullet-speed slice of discs through the sullen air
Is only interrupted by drones from the soldiers of consumerism,
Awaiting the newest shipment of their tools for demise.

The Fourth Reich gloats over its unswerving supremacy, with costs to match,
Whilst the Microsoft Union offers less reliance on the enemy’s capitalism.
And yet, the two halves both equally feed from the peoples’ pockets.

Controller against controller is weapon against weapon
In a battle for supremacy, the conqueror of all races
Shall bathe in glory in the new gaming age.

And all the while, the inner you remains neglected
As a martyr of simplistic times and generations past;
The humble U, dubbed as a fool’s toy, is only worthy of child’s play.

The war of the century, or so they tell us, seems a bit overrated.
