I always wanted a dog of my own
To keep me company, I would never be alone
I dreamt she would be the perfect pet
It took so long before we met
Now she is here, my life has changed
All mixed up and rearranged
Sleepiness nights and chewed up stuff
Jumping at me is quite enough
I can’t stay mad at her for long
She looks at me, not knowing what’s wrong
Floppy ears and a silly grin
How can I resist? She is sure to win
My heart she has, it’s hers to keep
Friends forever, I’m in deep
I now have that dog I longed for
She is my best friend and so much more.
