Was It Really There?

The day was hot and sunny as I strolled along the sand,
I suddenly spied a glimmer towards the ocean strand.
Did my eyes detect a beautiful aqua tail
Of an imaginary sea creature
Floating near the land?
But was it just some coral, was it just some fish?
Or was it just some seagulls making a large pitch?
It was probably just some seagulls,
Or maybe just some fish….
Or did I just see some golden hair flowing in a swish?
Magic moments come and go, but was it really there?
Then, I heard a great big splash.
Was there something there?
