I am a girl of age fourteen
Who likes to read, to write, to sing;

Buried in books and angel wings;
I dream of stars and far- fetched things

Many a time in pools of tears;
I long for strength without a fear

Reckless, impatient, shy and rash
I try to change for the very best

Love and hope and joyful laughter
I wish for a “Happy ever after”

Not pretty, not smart, not funny
I can’t help being just plain me

You see, I live in simplicity;
And what I am---
Is truly me.
