Her name written in the sand
Of a beauty she could never hold in her hand
Closed her heart and locked it with a key
Threw the key into the vast, deep blue sea
Her name written in the leaves
Of a desire she could never appease
Followed the worn path through the forest
Lost herself in the dirt, no longer honest
Her name written in the clouds
Of an elegance to her not allowed
Lacerations were scarred reminders
Of her time in binders
Conforming to the mode
The fabrication in which she rode
A ghost, she hardly remained
Her true self, chained.
