He was my friend’s sweetheart.
He belonged to her.
His gift of amity saved me;
With him I forgot to suffer.
He was my friend’s former.
He belonged with the wind.
He was a wild horse at best;
Drifting, free, impossible to pin.
He was my best friend.
He belonged to me.
He said he was in love
And I adored him to the ninth degree.
He was my best friend.
He once belonged to me.
He said he was in love
But what he loved was to be free.
