Excellence Award in the 'The Text Generation 2014' competition
Thy treacherous heart torn 'to a twisted knot,
With visions that plague thy orbs unbounded;
Scars of a lonely survivor whom beseeched to rot.
Yet in ye midst, t'was thine years not counted.
Burdensome shall bare, without glory of war won.
O' wherefore the fallen countless upon the land!
Thus far haunted 'ere thee reflect on none;
Eyes art mirrored to thy painted hands,
By which scarlet drips upon skin.
Naught remains withal drops of sorrow weep,
Yea the dust of thine kin.
Despairing rage overcame thee,
Whence darkness consumes thy leaden soul;
And no elixir shall cure thy burdens whole...
