Excellence Award in the 'The Text Generation 2014' competition
The crowds were roaring. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. 'Keep calm, look down and don't let anything distract you' I told myself. "Take your marks." the starter said dramatically. " And... go!" I raced off. With my arms curving and my strong legs powering me along, there was a small chance that I could win. 'Only about 30 metres left!' I thought. Whistles were heard in the background as the 1st person touched the wall. Even more as the 2nd person touched the wall. As I touched the wall, a rush of happiness, relief and pride flooded through me. It was one of the best days of my life.
