I was only a child,
a child with innocent thoughts and innocent eyes.
On the cold ground, my frozen body lies.
He stole something precious from me that I can never take back,
I lost my dignity because of his selfish act.

Now I am unwanted because of what he did to me.
Who are you to take my childhood away from me?
My hands pushing you away, trying to break free.
I am losing this battle, that I can see.

You grab me by my shoulders and throw me to the ground,
I am powerless, broken and bound
You rip my clothes apart,
I knew this was just the start

I am a child, lying naked, without a sound.
for you this is only another round.
Your fierce and thirsty eyes scanning me from top to bottom,
any thoughts and feelings of mine were forgotten.

Hurt, pained, guilty and betrayed.
On the cold and hardened ground I was laid.
My numb, gleaming eyes filled with tears.
I knew my life would be filled with fears.

The pain and hurt inside could not be disguised,
you felt nothing, your lust could not be denied.
My limited words pleading you to stop,
my mind filled with your ridicule and your mock.

Darkness surrounds me and guilt blurs my eyes,
The spirit within me slowly dies.
My motionless body abandoned on the ground,
My bruises and scars, my body was found.

I shouldn't feel degraded but I do,
the pain is so raw, so new.
These words that I’m saying are not just a rhyme,
for today I stand against this crime.
For the victims, the children, the women on this earth,
to end this violence for what it is worth.


The men are out of the picture,
Its the victim with the stricture.
The men are free,
they question the victim.
The blame is on me,
its always been in the system.
The woman is shamed,
and according to the society, she is renamed.
I am a victim of rape,
Why am I to blame?
