Finalist in the 'The Text Generation 2014' competition
The optimist sees through rose-tinted glass,
Nothing dull or unpleasant to see,
Misguided fools to the upper class,
The envy of others, who they want to be,
Pessimists see through the darkest of lens',
No colour visible, no beautiful light,
Blindfolded to the virtue of men,
Inexperienced with joy and pure delight,
Realists have glass, transparent to see,
No smudges or objects obstruct their view,
They see both sides of humanity,
The faults of the world, and the positives too,
But writer‘s glasses have a special sheen,
They see what is not usually seen,
They see the dark, and the light,
And that is what enables, them to write.
