As the tears shed inconspicuously across my face
I begin to notice how lonesome and fragile I am
smiles surround me
but I am consumed in my own frown
I abdicated my happiness and became abominable
I am known as the petulant and nondescript child
the smallest of comments will affect my self-esteem and anxiety will consume me
excluded, forgotten and deceived
my insecurities are highlighted
compliments are now irrelevant
it's as if I only exist to be unacknowledged
although there are highs and lows, the pain still lingers
and I cannot deny the sad truth
I am suffering
I am imperfect
I am human
