I’m in love with the strum of a guitar,
Music is the blanket that keeps us safe
And fills the nothing for a little while longer.
Motorbikes scatter pebbles across the road.
They’re in such a hurry
To fill the nothing for a little while longer.
The nebula dangling around my neck brushes soil,
And I’m hoping the dirt on my jeans will remind me
To keep breathing
‘Cause I’m in love with the strum of a guitar.
And maybe you’re doing the same thing as me:
Weeding a garden of your own,
To fill the nothing for a little while longer.
Drops of water obscure the landscape,
But it’s okay
I’m in love with the strain of a guitar
And it fills the nothing for a little while longer.
