As I feel their powerful gallop,
Their spirits so peaceful and strong,
It sends a tingle down my back.
How they run!
Longing for someone to love them.
Even when it’s cold they are there,
Protecting each other from their fears.
A blur of colours – black, brown and white.
Their matching strides,
Every hoof beat sounds magical.
Some may never understand these wonderful creatures,
But a girl like me does.
I feel their pain and loneliness, the need to be loved.
Until a heart so soft and understanding comes,
Loving each and every horse.
Forging a friendship that can never be broken.
