A bright, dazzling star up alone in the sky,
Piercingly bright in the gloomy night.
Sad memories sneak into my mind,
And I wish and hope with all my might…

I wish for happiness, I wish for love,
I wish and hope that wars will cease.
I wish for friendship, I wish for joy,
I wish and hope for worldwide peace.

A glistening tear forms in my eye,
As I recall what happened that horrible day.
Exploding bombs, flying shrapnel and guns,
The day my family passed away.

I wish for agreement, I wish for fun,
I hope that things will never go wrong.
I wish for kindness, I wish for faith,
I wish that everyone could all just get along.
