The dusty road never ends,
It just keeps on going with lots of bends,
I see a lonely, dead tree,
That is all it will ever be,
But maybe it can be more if it just tried,
As if it never died,
A difference within,
That never got to begin,
When it never got to live the blazing heat,
The heat it couldn't beat,
So lonely, so sad,
It never meant to be bad,
In the hot red sand,
Did it ever want to be bland,
It's peeling burnt wood,
It was always misunderstood,
The dead tree.
