I have to live with myself and so
I want to be fit for myself you know,
I want to be able as days go by,
To look myself straight in the eye.
I don’t want to stand in the sun
And regret the things I have done.
I don’t want to sit on the closet shelf
And keep the darkest secrets to myself.
I don’t want to fool myself as I go
Because eventually someone will know.
I cannot hide myself from me;
I can see what other can never see.
I know what others can never know
I cannot know myself and so.
