It's not something you can hear,
Nor something you can see,
Yet it drifts from mouth to mouth,
And between you and me,

It's the space between our finger tips,
And the cold chilling air,
It's between our muffled words,
It is everywhere,

It's what I struggle to find,
When my heart begins to race,
Or the wind becomes too heavy,
And I discover the warmth in its embrace,

It could be as easy,
As letting out a breath,
It's oxygen's decision,
Will it be life or death?
